Redwood Trees

After leaving Washington we headed South through Oregon and did some of the coast.  Which was beautiful but the road was not so beautiful.  There were lost of whoop-de-doos, as we like to call them.  These are the ripples the road makes when it freezes and thaws. (Ask my brother he can tell you a whole lot more about that since he is a road scholar.)  Our coach kept bouncing up and down with the road which was making us all, animals included, very cranky.  So we pulled ourselves over and headed for Interstate 5 South and Crescent City to see the Redwoods.  Which neither of us has ever seen.  Honestly to see these majestic trees was truly amazing.

Towering over us.

Path through Stout Grove

Huge beyond comprehension.

I can still hold it up !!!

Tom getting that perfect shot.

Can you see the face in the tree?

Timber...this one fell over to reveal the roots.

Amazing.

Before it became a Grand Daddy Redwood.  Hope it's still around in 2000 years.

Looking up !!

If you haven't been there and have the opportunity to go, take it.

Headed to Reno next.

Go Fly a Kite...

Long Beach Washington Kit Festival was really fun.  Little did we know that we would come upon this when we arrived.  We had a great time watching all the kites.  Even buying one or two (5) of our own to fly.

Synchronized Kite Flyers.  The kites in the above picture were being controlled by the people in the picture below.  Very cool to watch.

We met some really cool people next to us in their RV.  Their son Hunter flew our stunt kites with us on the beach.  It was a blast.
