PUFFINS...

Puffins...the cutest bird ever.
We took a cruise out to an island where Puffins breed.  When we arrived the Puffins greeted us with some fun acrobatics across the water.  A few just swam around and checked us out.  Mostly they were busy doing what Puffins do, fishing, swimming and flying.  Check out the slide show for some great photos.

Eagles Hunting...

Eagles are shy birds by nature so to get them is a challenge.  We spent 2 weeks looking for them.  Finally found 5 hunting in this bay.  I hope you don't get tired of looking at our pictures of them.  We love photographing them when we can.

The Central Coast of Maine means Lobster....

Maine.....

Since our last post we have traveled to Maine via New Hampshire...We arrived here June 7th and have been on the go almost constantly since.  Once we arrived in Maine it was all about the Lobster.  The succulent meat dipped in warm butter and melting in your mouth.  This is heaven.

Our location is just about 7 miles outside of Bar Harbor near Acadia National Park.  The pictures below are of the 4 lb lobster Tom had the other evening.  My lobster is laying behind the claw to show the sheer size of this guy.  Some new friend's, Ray and Millie, took us out for this big guy.

More Vermont....

So here's a funny story....

Me, the city girl, takes off on a walk with the dogs on the morning after we arrive in Vermont.  We are winding through dirt roads enjoying the sun's warm rays peeking through the maple trees when we happen upon an area with tubes and lines all around.

I am standing there thinking.  Well this landowner doesn't want anyone walking around their property, people or animals, so they strung rope lights from tree to tree.  Wow this must look really neat at night with the lights on.  I must come back after dark and take a picture.

Well when I return Sherri and I head to town to go do some grocery shopping.  While on our way we pass another piece of land with the same tubes.  Sherri explains that they have tapped the trees for maple syrup and this is the time of year when they harvest it.

In my head I am saying well silly me I am in Vermont how else would they get the syrup???  Squeeze the tree like a sponge?  I have to laugh at myself for this one.  When we got back from shopping I told them all what I thought it was.  Everyone got a great laugh...

Maple Syrup anyone !!!!

After tasting the local syrup we're hooked.
