The Maine Stay

Our stay in Maine will be coming to an end on Tuesday but not without a grand finale'.  On Monday we will be going out on a boat to Michias Seal Island off the coast of Maine to watch Puffins.  Yes those cute little birds which are the Parrots of the Atlantic Ocean.

Being here in Maine has been a wonderful experience.  We have relaxed, been sightseeing and I found a walking trail which was spectacular.  I'll post some pictures of that next.

This is the East Quoddy lighthouse on Campobello Island, New Brunswick Canada.  The lighthouse is accessible at low tide only.  If you hike to it when the tide is out and you wait too long you'll be stuck there for 6-8 hours until the tide goes back out.

FDR bridge.  The other side is Canada.

The same bridge from farther away.

We traveled to Campobello Island which was the home of Franklin D. Roosevelt before he was President and during his terms in office.  Although he only visited a handful of times.  The island is small and only has about 1000 residents, there is one food store and 2 restaurants.
